I'm not a Japanese native speaker, but as far as I know, "Hello" in Japanese has different forms, referring from the time of the day, or the people you talk to, and the communication you use (face to face, or talking to the phone).
For example, "Hello in the morning" will be translated as : "Ohayō gozaimasu"
However, "hello during the evening" is Konban-wa.
Anyways, I guess the most used form of hello is "Konnichi-wa".
Saying hello to your friends or someone you are very familiar with will be "Ohayo".
Saying hello to the phone will be "Mochi Mochi".
Hope I did not make it wrong and hope it will help you !
Yasmine.

Japanese:
おはようございます。 (good morning)
こんいちわ!(good afternoon)
こんばんわ。(good evening)
おやすみなさい。(means good night)
English:
Hello
I think in German it's hallo
In Spanish it's ¡Hola!
I think in Chinese it's (i don't know the characters) ni hao
