Is this correct? "La gente es loco." I thought that maybe "la gente" is plural and I have to use "son locos"? But then, it is not "Las gentes", right? I'm confused.

The correct grammar for it would be "la gente esta loca", "la gente" already is in plural because you are referring to "people", in difference to the english language where you can say peoples in Spanish there is no plural for gente. Spanish is one of those languages where theres 5 words for 1 meaning. To put it simple in this specific sentence when referring to Gente which is a generalization of a mass of subjects, while using a specific adjectives like Loco you don't use the plural for the adjective. And another thing when words that starts with Las you use the female word of the adjetive instead of the male.
