Yes, "tragen" is similar to English but there are some differences with certain words. For instance, "Ich trage eine Jeans" or "Ich trage eine Hose" (I am wearing jeans / I am wearing pants).
You can also say: "Ich trage eine Brille." (I am wearing glasses)
