Calabria
Does anybody know what dialect is spoken in the city of Cosenza in Calabria? As far as I can tell their are two major dialects in Calabria the northern and the central/southern. It looks like Cosenza is located pretty close to what's considered the border of the central and northern parts of Calabria. So would they be considered central/southern or northern? Thanks

In Cosenza is spoken a dialect (dialetto cosentino) that comes from Neapolitan dialect, whereas for example in Catanzaro they speak a variety (dialetto calabrese) that is more similar to Sicilian dialect. Wikipedia explains that this way:
Del gruppo meridionale o napoletano fanno parte le varietà cosentine del nord della regione, mentre sono di tipo meridionale estremo o siciliano quelle in uso nella zona centro-meridionale che annoverano il calabrese centrale e il meridionale.

Then speak central/southern dialect, but there's a minimal difference between northen and central
