Hi,
I've never finished reading those pieces by William Burroughs, cause they seemed quite beyond me.
In my case, there always exist two ways to resolve the problems.
1.Check the Chinese versions. As far as I know, the Chinese version of Naked Lunch has been repulished decades ago,of which I have seen more than once in our university library.
2.Consult to dictionaries. My recomodendations are as follows:
Modern American Proverbs & Idioms
Contemporary American Slang
Merriam Webster's Collegiate Dictioanry
...
All are available in large bookstores.
Good luck!
