"Get" is the infinitive and present simple tense while "got" is the past simple and past participle of the verb.

Got is the past of get.
Some examples:
Yesterday, i got a nice discount on potatoes.
If i get a nice discount on potatoes, i'm going to buy a lot of them.
I want to get 10'000€ to buy a lot of potatoes.
