Could someone explain what "dont" is in French and how do I use it?

dont in french is a relative pronom like : qui, que quoi, où, lequel, duquel, auquel ... but we can't say : c'est une personne que je me suis fait un ami (because in french, je me fais un ami de quelqu'un means to make friend with) Then because of the preposition "de", we use "dont"' and not "que" So the correct sentence is c'est une personne dont je me suis fait un ami And yes i agree : french is impossible ...

dont in franch is "ne pas" we use it for wornig or give advice or answer ext...
