Meaning of ساق in context
Hello, can anybody help me get the meaning of the word ساق in the context of the following sentence ?
كنا نتابع المشهد، ارتفعت ساق المستر ستيوارت، وبدا مضطرباً، وبعد أن شرب القهوة، رأيناه يهمس ببعض الكلمات لقائد المخفر
The meaning i have found would be "leg" but, if so, i think it doesn't fit in this context.
Thank you in advance !

I think so too, if by ساق the author meant his literal leg. But another context of "ارتفعت الساق" usually regards plants growing, as the stem of the plant is ساق, and for it to rise is for the plant to grow erect.....which I wouldn't completely dismiss as a metaphor for anxiety lol either way is an interesting use of the word.

Indeed the meaning in this context is "leg", maybe when Mr Stewart is troubled express this by leg lifting !
