First,the two words are irrelevant. So you don't need to consider it hardly! 安全 is safe ,or safety security. you can say " I'm safe , now!" That means "我现在是安全的“ 安然 is a condition of your heart or your life. You can say" I have a quiet life". That means "我有一个安然的生活 or 我生活安然“.
