What's the difference between
(1) 좋은 사람을 사귀기 어려워요.
(2) 좋은 사람을 사귀기 어려워해요.
Is (2) even correct?

어/아/여하다 = Descriptive Verb to Action Verb
This Korean grammar point is used to change a descriptive verb to an action verb. This grammar point can only be used with a third person subject. Unless the verbs 좋아하다 or 싫어하다 are used, which can be used in first person context.
Example of 어/아/여하다:
운전을 많이 해야 해서 엄마가 힘들어합니다. = Mom is tired because she has much driving to do.
그 소식을 듣고 젠나 씨가 제일 슬퍼했어요. = Jenna was the most sad when hearing about the news.
저는 한국 음식을 좋아합니다. = I like Korean food.
(저는) 좋은 사람을 사귀기(가) 어려워요.
It is difficult for me to make a good friend.
(그는) 좋은 사람을 사귀기(를) 어려워해요
He has difficulty in making a good friend.

->usually who? me! (내가) 좋은 사람을 사귀기 어려워요.
(2)좋은 사람을 사귀기 어려워해요.
-> who? someone. 그녀는/그는/내 친구는 (She/He/My friend) 좋은 사람을 사귀기 어려워해요.
(2) is depend on subject. (Is it correct? I mean 주어에 따라서 맞을수도 틀릴 수도 있어요!)
