What is the meaning of "stupéfiait" in the following sentence?
Il me regarda stupéfiait.
I guess it is a typo of "stupéfait".

It's a typo it should be "stupéfait"
It means something like shocked or surprised.
Je suis stupéfait de te voir ici.
C'était la panique. Je restai là, stupéfait.

Il me regarda stupéfiait. c'est en fait : il me regarda stupéfait.
Ce qui signifie qu'il était vraiment très étonné.
Synonymes : éberlué - sidéré - ébahi - effaré - époustouflé
On pourrait dire selon l'expression française : tomber des nues.
Je traduirai par : flabbergasted
