what‘s the difference between drains and waterways ?
I have just read a sentence "Take all necessary measures to avoid accidental discharge of products into drains and waterways due to the rupture of
containers or transfer systems."
Can anyone tell me the difference between them?

1, drain: a pipe, or a passage, through which water or waste liquid flows away. (排水沟)
2, waterway: a river or lake that boats use for travelling from one place to another. (航道)
