"부르러" - in order to call. (부르다: call; call out; summon)
-러 is a verb ending indicating a intention or purpose of an action.
It is a special form which only works with words like 가다(go), 오다(come), and others with a similar meaning.
The general verb ending expressing an intention is -려(고) and -기 위해(서). They can be used with any verb.
Examples:
- 옷을 사러 백화점에 갔다: I went to the department store to buy clothes.
- 친구가 날 만나러 왔다: A friend of min came to see me.
- 의사를 부르러 달려가다: run off to fetch a doctor.
- 겨울에 입으려고 새 외투를 샀다: I bought an overcoat to wear in the winter.
- 일기를 쓰기 위해 노트를 새로 준비했다: I got a new notebook to keep a diary.
