I thought saying "Como te llama?" with no s was formal and "Como te llamas?" is informal? Right?

The informal way is "cómo te llamas?"
The formal is " cómo se llama?"
You don't notice the S in " cómo te llamas" as some people don't pronounce it, or they say it so fast!

Good Afternoon Teige
- "Como te llama?" is incorrect if you are trying to ask for a name, this sentence in English means "How he/she call you" and it refers to what action or how a person manage to call you in present.
- "Como te llamas?" is an informal way to ask for a name, the most formal way is "Cual es su nombre?".
