What does the phrase "the toughest job you'll ever love" mean? And what about the "ever" used here?

It means that the job will be difficult but it will be rewarding for you. Ever means no other job will be compared to it.

The statement is odd. It means that if the job were any harder, then they could not love it. "Ever" used here refers to the span of a lifetime I think. So as long as the person lives, they will never find a job that is tougher and that they would also love.
