What is the difference between "tart" and "sour"?

In my mind, tart is more often used in reference to a dessert so there may be an element of sweet in the flavor as well whereas sour is just the unpleasant puckering flavor.

Tart and sour are synonyms which means they mean the same things. There is no difference in the meaning of these words.
