This sentence is from a moive 'Joy'.But I can't understand the meaning of ' indemnify uo to a third'.

To indemnify is to either secure/insure against possible damage or loss, or to compensate for damage or loss.
I'm not familiar with this movie but it appears to be an offer to protect a third of some type of investment or loan.
