Some teachers does not accept lesson invitations I am new for taking lessons here.. I had a strange experience... I have noticed that teachers don't accept the lessons neither cancel them. the first time I canceled 10 hours before the lesson because of no response from teacher, second time 5 hours. this time I Am 45 minutes away from the lesson and the teacher does not accept it yet.. in the 3 cases teachers does not reply to my many messages. and another not accepted lesson is after 8 hours, I sent messages but no response as well. This irritates me as I have other plans in my life an things I need to schedule accordingly. By the way all are 5 or 4.9 star rated..I would know if this is normal between teachers here on italki? Also how long should I wait before I cancel while considered an appropriate and polite lesson cancellation?

You cannot cancel within 24 hours of the lesson time. Is this what you are experiencing? I would say it is not normal for a teacher to be so rude and unprofessional. I'll respond to your request for classes. https://www.italki.com/teacher/3150393

This has happened to me a couple times. It's quite irritating to "sort of" schedule a lesson, and then sit around hoping they accept 10 minutes before the scheduled time. Or maybe they never accept and then you're stuck there. I don't think iTalki should allow teachers to accept that close to the scheduled time. It should be something like 1 hour before or at least 30 mins before. That way, you can plan to do other things if the teacher never accepts your lesson. Last week I even had a teacher stand me up TWICE in the same week. Needless to say I was quite annoyed that she wasted my time not once, but twice in the same week.

I try to cancel a clss more than 24 hrs of our class. I tried to send her personal msg and even in skype. Im still waiting for her reply. I also sent an email to italki support to approve my cancelation request. I have an important appointment for tomrow. Still no response

I actually thought that lesson requests were automatically cancelled 24 hours before the requested appointment time, so I always rushed to accept requests as SOON as I got them! I'm sorry you've had such bad experiences with tutors, but I promise there are awesome ones. I'm also grateful to learn that this kind of situation can happen :p

David, you maybe right about this. but in my case I don't think so. the teachers appear to be online but they don't respond or reply to my messages :s
