What's the meaning of "personal accounts" in this sentence?
I'm reading World War Z and I don't understand "personal accounts" in this context.
Will future generations care as much for chronologies and casualty statistics as they would for the personal accounts of individuals not so different from themselves?
Thanks

When you "give an account" of an event, you simply say what happened. In this case, it has nothing to do with finances.
"Personal accounts" means the events as told by individuals (and not by historians or researchers).

'Accounts' in this context means 'stories' or 'tales', as told by the people themselves. No tiene nada que ver con el significado financiero en este contexto. Supongo que en castellaño se diría 'relatos' o 'cuentos.' O 'historias.'

It's saying that the future generations will care more about personal accounts for example diaries and letters written by people, then just the numbers and statistics
