Quelle est la difference entre "j'espère" et "je souhaite"?
I am having trouble knowing when would be the correct time to use these phrases. Can they be used interchangeably? Or are there certain situations which would make more sense to use one or the other?

"J'espère" is used like "I hope"
"Je souhaite" is used like "I wish"
I hope it will help you / J'espère que ça t'aida
And I wish you the best / Et je te souhaite le meilleur
