모방하다 vs 따라하다
what is the difference between 모방하다 and 따라하다?

모방하다 and 따라하다 have almost same meanings. But 모방 is chinese character and 따라하다 is original Korean character. Additionally 모방 can be used as noun but 따라 can't.

모방하다 : 다른 것을 본뜨거나 본받다 ( to imitate, copy, model, (formal) emulate )
남의 작품을 모방하다.
부모의 행동을 모방하다.
일본의 제도를 모방하다.
따라하다(x)
따라 하다(o) : 따르다 + -아(서) 하다 -> 따라(서) 하다
따라 하다 : 남이 하는 대로 같이 하다 ( to follow, imitate, copy; (발음 등을) repeat (after))
가수의 춤을 따라 하다.
