How many times a year? In a year?
Hi guys,
Could you tell me which one is correct?
How many times do you travel [a year/ in a year]?
It's confusing because I'm familiar with saying, for example, twice a week or once a month, and there is no 'in'.

In a year is more correct. However, no one will think it sounds strange to leave out the "in" when speaking. You could always use "per" as well. " ...travel per year.?"

To me this makes sense because you're asking about a particular period of time.

A year
In a year
Each year
Every year
Per year
You can say them all with week or month or day or an hour, as long as you are talking about one week, one month ect. If you want two weeks, you can only say in two weeks or every two weeks.
