1) When she heard the good news, her eyes opened WIDE because of excitement.
2) Mr. Smith likes travelling WIDELY around the world for his business.

Wide is an adjective . It is used to describe smth broad, enormous. Widely is an adverb. Meaning - often, as a habit.
