We have four basic ways of expressing this future: 1. The film starts in five minutes. 2. The film is starting in five minutes. 3. The film is going to start in five minutes. 4. The film will start in five minutes. Of these, 1, 2, and 3 are all natural. The 4th would sound very unnatural in everyday speech.

both are ok. The present tense is used for now and a bit into the future and a little into the past.
