Which do you think is more appropriate expression?
I'd like to know which is more appropriate.
1.Today is national holiday in Japan, so I invited some friends to my house.We enjoyed playing video games.
2.It is national holiday in Japan, so I invited some friends to my house.We enjoyed playing video games.

1. Should start "Today is a national holiday in Japan".
2. Should start "It is a national holiday in Japan".
I don't think it matters which you choose. Both are fine. 1 possibly places emphasis on "today". 2 possibly places emphasis on it being a national holiday. With option 2, "today" would be assumed.
