Hola, es totalmente igual, la verdad puedes referirte de muchas formas, puedes decir:
-Hay lapices en la mesa.
-En la mesa hay unos lapices.
-En la mesa están unos lapices.
-Hay unos lápices en la mesa.
Es totalmente igual, todo esta en la manera en la que te expreses, espero te haya servido :)

Hay lapices en la mesa = there are pencils on the table.
Hay unos/algunos lapices en la mesa = there are a few pencils on the table.
