There are many jobs that people think may be ideal. Some people say, "I want to earn a lot of money", others say "money isn't important to me, I just want a job that I love". While these two ways of thinking are very common, as scientists, we must truly love our jobs.
If we think about someone like Rosalind Franklin, in her studies, including discovering the structure of DNA, she ultimately forfeited her life. Following her death, her fellow scientists won the Nobel Prize for their discovery. In a time when scientists weren't paid well, she could have only done this for the love of her work.
