Are both sentences natural? (it is very difficult to find a place to bathe here...) I take it as a luxury that i can take a bath in such a remote area. I take it as a luxury to be able to take a bath in such a remote area.

I think both sound natural. "Be able to" can sometimes be used in place of "can" or "could", as you have done. "To be able to" is the infinitive form.
