Neither. :) Right now I'm on the internet (which means using the internet). You posted your message on the internet. I found it on the internet. The internet is similar in function to a message board, or TV, in the actual (as opposed to virtual) world so some of the same language transfers, but by no means all. The internet is actually a network of networks, and low level protocols. The world wide web is a layer of abstraction built on the internet. So when most people say they're using the internet, they're actually using the www. Websites are built on the www. So you're nearly always using a website (or SMTP for email) when you're using the internet, so using those terms is more specific. There are also (apparently) deep/dark internets that people like you and I will never experience. They use the same, or similar, technology as the civilian internet, but they're used by criminals, military, and other official shadow organizations.
