What`s the difference between "belle" and "jolie"?

Since you asked the question in English, I will give translations and some additional information:
1) belle = beautiful
2) jolie = pretty
"belle" is stronger than "jolie". You can say a girl is pretty if she is nice to look at but not particularly so. "Belle" is used when the effect someone's appearance produces is stronger - someone who is particularly striking or unusual, like a model or actress.

En pratique, il y a très peu de différence entre "belle" et "jolie". De toute façon, la dame que vous qualifierez avec un de ces adjectifs sera très contente !
