How do I ask this question in Spanish? I have a lot of trouble with 'was' in Spanish. Do I use era, estaba, fue, estuvo? Any help would be great. Thanks.

La forma más común sería: ¿Cómo ha ido la semana? o ¿Qué tal la semana? Pero si quieres hacer una traducción literal y usar "ser o estar" una frase aceptable sería: ¿Cómo fue la semana? o ¿Qué tal has estado esta semana? No obstante, la forma más común y natural es la primera.

¿Qué tal estuvo tu semana? is okay. However, I think you would sound more natural if you used ¿Qué tal la semana? or maybe even ¿Cómo ha ido la semana?

I tend to say "¿Qué tal tu semana?". I know it doesn't have a verb but it's perfectly understood by native speakers.
