What does this phrasal structure mean?
苹果和橙子,我更喜欢橙子。
茶和咖啡,我更喜欢咖啡。
Unfortunately Rosetta Stone does not provide any explication, therefore I want to know the meaning of those sentences.

( If given a choice between) apples and oranges , I prefer(or like) oranges more.
茶和咖啡,我更喜欢咖啡
( If given a choice between) tea and coffee , I prefer(or like) coffee more. 。

I prefer oranges to apples.
