Pushing on a pull door/ Pushpull !! What is the metaphor of "pushing on a pull door" ?! And is it the same as "pushpull" if not what's the difference

"Pushing on a pull door" means that the person is an imbecile and can't understand how to use a door. I have never heard of "push pull" before.
