「影がさす」の意味は何ですか？

意味というより使い方ですが、私が知っているのは 主に人の悪い噂をしてるときに本人が現れた際に使ったりします。 「噂をすれば影が射す」 影で悪口を言ってるとき、実はその人が後ろにいたりして地面に本人の影が差す光景が思い浮かびませんか？ 他にも使い方がありますが、前向きな表現では使われません。
