What does " step off" mean?
In the song " I have seen the rain" by Pink:
"I have seen the rain
I've survived the pain
Oh I've been home 30 years or so
And I'm just stepping off of the plane"
It means Get on the plane or Get off the plane?
Thanks so much.

Literally, it means getting off the plane. However, it is being used metaphorically in this context and what I think it actually means is 'although I have been here for 30 years it feels like I have only just arrived'.
