careers in China for foreigners??? (besides English/diplomat) just out of curiosity, I wanted to know if anyone is working in China but employed by a foreign company. If so, what kind of job do you do? What kind of careers are out there? I'm asking because I want to keep my Canadian roots but spend lots of time China. English teacher / diplomat is the obvious answer, but I am looking for more advanced requirements like business or engineering. thanks in advance!!

teacher of course is easy for you but there are also some other jobs ,as you know ,much more skillful, but that depands your major. i'm a Chinese, and live in Dalian now, there are many foreigners working in the foreign companies as computer enjineers or managers. So you may pay attention to the large companies which has their branch in China. There are always information of recruiting. And also some websides like http://www.chinahr.com/international/recruit.asp?clickbutton=1

you should check out thatsshanghai.com, there are a few ads on there. zhaopin.com is good too. Yes, there are other jobs apart from teaching. I personally work for the BD department of a clinical research organization and also do some freelance translating. Take a look at the sites and see what you can see.
