café or cafe
I was practicing actual listening questions of IELTS.
There was a question of which the official answer is café. I know it is the French spelling, but it's an English test, and there is no letter as é in English. So how do you write it? Thanks.

In American English, we would not typically use the accented e, but you see it both ways in America.

A lot would depend on context. How accurate you want to be, how pretentious you want to be, if you know how to write an accent on a computer. In general, it doesn't matter.
