Que modo uso con "excepto que"? ¿Indicativo, subjuntivo, o depende?

Se usa con el modo subjuntivo. Como el modo de posibilidad. "Excepto que sea varón, adornaremos de rosa el cuarto del bebé" (aún no conocen el sexo). "Excepto que llueva, no estrenaré mi nuevo paraguas" (Aún se trata de una posibilidad, la de que llueva).
