Difference between 마감기한 and 기한
I know 기한 means 'deadline' but what difference does adding 마감 to it make?

마감 and 기한 have the same meaning as a due time. just 마감 is more focused on the dead line, and 기한 is more on the period available.
thus technically, 마감기한 is grammatically wrong since it's double.
내일이 마감이다 = 기한이 내일까지다
