How do you define "love" in your context? What makes you say so? From the Sichuan Earthquake episode which happened quite "recently", I think that the "love" that was manifested was pretty touching, based on what I have read and heard from people who are involved. Of course, as an outsider, I have no chance to experience it first hand though.

machine...aha, machine with blood and breath, with family and friends, with a big heart bear different cultures, with a rise life and times. if all these words still cannot find the love there, check your heat sir. but really , for most of the people(i mean on the earth), if you are not fall in love in the first sight , you do need time to know each other at first . to respect what will be welcome or not in their culture or their personal way. and till now , most of chinese people are not so often to talllllllllllllk about love. but they did, and keep it inside. don't you think a sweet smile, to share life with family and friends is from love. so why and how people live this life? maybe you just didn't get the right way to communicate with those person who were around you. or you just tooooooo insist your way to the love. try to respect and understand , it will be different.

do you mean "friendly?" chinese are very conservative and rarely show their feelings. hardly do i see parents hugging or kissing their children. they are not used to talking to non-chinese because the culture is so homogeneous. also, they worry about what others in their circles think about them and are not really happy if their children date/marry outside their culture.
