A grant is a similar to a scholarship in that they're both ways of providing financial aid to a person with no strings attached (meaning you don't have to pay back anything). The difference between a scholarship and a grant is that scholarships are usually merit- based (the person must get good grades for ex.) while grants are not. You can receive a grant based on financial hardship alone.

I believe a scholarship would be one of many forms of grants. I'm not sure how to give you an example of a real company giving such a thing. But let's say a government gives a grant for researchers to fund their projects, or scholarship for international students. Hope that helps.
