Proper translation for 수고했어요 정말 고생했어요
A friend of mine wants 수고했어요 정말 고생했어요 as a tattoo and she asked me to check it for her. She said the proper translation should be "You did a good job today, you worked so hard" and it does seem to be that, but I want to check with native speakers. She was also wondering where the comma would go, but I'm unsure if it belongs before or after 정말

yes, she is right N we often use it. 
정말 is adverb, so you can put anywhere on purpose. 
, is... where do you but comma in your language? i think it doesn't have any difference with your language. 
1. we use comma after some of the conjunctives , to connect two independent clauses
 first of all, i ~~ 우선, 나는~~
 anyway, I'll go home  어쨌든, 나는 집에 간다.
today it rains, but tomorrow would be fine. 오늘은 비가 오지만, 내일은 해가 뜨겠지.
2. Use a comma to separate the elements in a series.
i have an appointment on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday. 화요일, 수요일, 목요일은 약속이 있어요.
3. to distinguish a pair.
Dog and cat, mosquito and pig cannot hit it off together 개와 고양이, 모기와 돼지는 서로 상극이다.
4.approximate number.
this book is for about 4, 5 years old kids .  이책은 4,5세 아동을 위한 책이다. 
5. to avoid repeat same mentions
I enjoyed summer vacation in the beach, winter vacation in the mountain. 나는 여름에는 바다에서, 겨울에는 산에서 휴가를 즐겼다.
6. after the answer or name calling.
Ji-eun, come here. 지은아, 이리 와 봐.   Yes, i got it. 네, 알았어요.  
7. to avoid confusion. 
 Jiyoung and her friend who live in seoul met at the cafe.  or Jiyoung who liven in seoul and her friend met at the cafe.서울에 사는 지영이와 친구는 카페에서 만났다.

There are a lot of variations. comma is not that important. You could pause when you want to pause. Hope it helps. ;)
