What does "Emotional stamina" mean? Here below is what I read.
Many couples don’t have the resources, don’t have the emotional stamina, don’t have the family support to raise a child with Down syndrome.

"Stamina" is the physical and/or mental strength to do something that might be difficult and will take a long time. But stamina can be used for emotions as well.
So having emotional stamina, in your example, means having having the resilience and strength to deal with all the emotions that you will feel and have to deal with when you have a child with downs syndrome.
