What's the meaning of "Only" in this paragraph ? Thanks! Remember that other people may be totally wrong. But they don't think so. Don't condemn them. Any fool can do that. Try to understand them. Only wise, tolerant, exceptional people even try to do that.

If you are not wise, tolerant, and exceptional, you will will not be able to understand other people, so you will condemn them. If you are able to understand other people, you are therefore wise, tolerant, and exceptional. You should not be like the fools who condemn; you should be like the exceptional people who try to understand.

It means that a wise person wouldn't condemn someone else who is wrong. Only a wise person would try to understand why another person is wrong instead of condemning them. I hope this answers your question!
