What`s the meaning of "socioeconomic lines" The problem cuts across all socioeconomic lines and affects all age groups

I'm not sure about the part "lines" although socioeconomic usually refers to the social and economical class of people in a society. Example sentence: "Marx described society as socioeconomic classes that he called upper class, middle class and lower class".
