Learning Portuguese
I'm currently learning Spanish but I would like to learn Portuguese and perhaps Italian. Would it be a good idea to learn both Spanish and Portuguese at the same time as they are quite similar? Or will this confuse me maybe? Also, I have no idea how to start learning Portuguese...

Catherine, learn both languages at the same time is not totally impossible. My suggestion to you, based on my experience, is to focus 70% of your time to devellop you spanish and make sure you'll become confident, as you already started learning spanish, and the 30% left, in a condition of a enthusiastic, you can already start a "soft learning" of portuguese, at least to get used with portuguese accent, some common words, some conversation. Hope this helps you, in case you need any other help just let me know!

Hi,
I'm Amiris nice to meet you!
My opinion would be to learn one language at a time, Spanish is similar to Portuguese in some thing, even Brazilians understand Spanish perfectly, but the natives of this language do not understand anything in Portuguese. Portuguese is a difficult language and requires a lot of focus.
