What is meaning of this word 'Otakusama'? My familiar friends often called me like that. I have started to learn Japanese by myself only 2 months and not know much about the language or Japanese culture. I guess that word has funny meaning because caller often giggle when I ask the meaning to her. I search this word on internet and found this page: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Otaku, but I still not know what is the real meaning of 'Otakusama'. I watch Japanese animes during lunch break at my office and having a lot of Japanese comics collection at my home , but I have a lot of friends in my real life. Here are some of my favorite Japanese comics and Japanese games computers: - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Shakugan_no_Shana - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Magical_Girl_Lyrical_Nanoha - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/School_Rumble - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Touhou_Project - There are more than 100+ comics and games computers in my collection. Although I am a hard worker, I always have time for those things. Am I an Otaku ? How do Japanese people feel about Otaku in their society ? In my society, nothing is serious; but it is a funny and weird thing :) . Thank you in advance, --Socko

I‘m just doing some research on Otaku and Faghead.(which simply means girl whose mind is filled with faggot). Isn't it sth like a couch potato or homeboy? I've seen tons of Otaku in my college.

An "otaku" is a person who loves watching anime. Otakusama means something like "Mister Otaku" or "Sir Otaku"
