"I was not prepared for English to be so difficult to learn but hey ho that's life"
It would be more commonly used as a dismissive response to a statement.
Fred: "You should not have pushed that person. "
Simon: "Hey ho"

Like the Dwarfs you could say: "Hey ho, it's off to work we go! " : )
Or like Joey Ramone you could say "Hey ho, let's go!" : )
Other than that I don't know !
