I just read in the Italki forum » we all have our own pet peeves,« what does that mean?

A pet peeve is a little thing, usually not important, that someone really doesn't like.
Example:
Stop leaning in your chair, that is my pet peeve!

Something that is maybe a bit annoying to most people but very annoying or upsetting to a particular person.
Something that irritates the heck out of you.
Something or a set of things that an individual finds very annoying.

A pet peeve is usually something really minor that annoys someone. It's something small that most people ignore but might bother you a lot. Examples:
- sniffling
- nail tapping
- humming
