How to write foreign names/words in Chinese
大家好!
This is my first question about Chinese.
I am studying Chinese mostly through YouTube courses and some other websites (like digmandarin.com etc.).
My question is, how do you write foreign names in Chinese?
I learnt that sometimes, it is transcribed into Chinese characters according to meaning.
So, if I want to learn how to write my name in Chinese (or even introduce myself 我叫【name】), then how can I say it?
[My name: Rubel]
I am complete beginner, so I am hoping for kind responses!
谢谢 in advance!

We translate english name into chinese via their similar pronunciations mostly. For example, your name "Rubel" sounds like "鲁巴尔". In this case, maybe your chinese name can be that chinese characters. Or on the other hand, your can pick up a totally new chinese name.
